CPB has been a revenue generating, self-sufficient unit during the last two years.

Govt. of India Funded projects under Bamboo mission and Bio-diesel mission have been on time in meeting objectives.

Several economically important genotypes have been identified, collected and multiplied through tissue culture techniques. A total of about four lac saplings of Sugarcane, Safed Musli, Eucalyptus etc. produced through tissue culture have been supplied to the farmers. The centre is also capable to provide tissue culture raised high quality planting material of Aloevera and Chrysanthemum as and when required. Four new plant species Potato, Bamboos, Jojoba and Mehandi have been established for micropropagation.

6.0 lac plants of Jatropha curcas have been produced conventionally and provided to the farmers.

A germplasm collection block to be used as source of explants for onward multiplication on large scale is being established at CPB.

A popular training Centre among students, as many as 500 graduate and post graduate students from various institutes have been imparted training at this Centre. In addition, training on Tissue Culture Techniques is also imparted to College and School teachers, State Govt. functionaries etc.

Ten Patent Awareness Workshops have been organized in the State in which Patent attorneys/ scientists from TIFAC delivered lectures.

A large number of small scale and large scale demonstrations of tissue culture raised plants have been organized at farmer’s fields through concerned user departments. In addition, the centre is popularizing biotechnology and its applications through Radio talks, TV, news papers, exhibitions, trainings, lectures, etc. Also, literature on important plants was printed in Hindi and English for use by the growers.

To bring CPB on National scene, a National Seminar on ‘Physiological and biotechnological approaches to improve plant productivity’ has been organized at CPB during March 15 to 17, 2008.

Zonal Seminar on Abiotic Stress Tolerance in plants - Physiological & Biotechnological Approaches was organized at CPB on Dec. 05, 2009.

Patent Awareness Workshop on Biotechnology & IPR issues was organized at CPB on March 18, 2010.

OPEN DAY was organized at CPB on Nov. 18, 2010.
